Yes, there is nudity at times in anime. But, not all animes have nudity such as Pokemon or.... um... other animes... Damn... there are lot's of pervs out there... >.< But, most animes have mild nudity such as Fruits Basket, unless you have a problem with seeing a guy dressed up in a wedding dress (crossplay... different story) or a guy shirtless o_O.
But, you don't even have to pay attention to it, so, just watch as if its a normal thing, cause in the real serious animes, Nudity is a regular thing. And, if you were wondering why the artists has nudity, it's just because the artist is just perverted or they want to _please_ some audiences *cough*HENTAI*cough*. For example, the artist who created S.M. (sailor moon), and they have the characters changing into their sailor costumes, but, in the uncut version, they have some nudity such as in the very last episode in the uncut version, sailor uranus and some other sailor character fight naked and stuff.
But, don't judge artists right a some artists, just because you see a naked character! Because, some artists don't really care if there is nudity, but the nudity is necessary in order to have the anime a bit more realistic...
Example: In Devil Lady, the character, Jun, changes into a demon, and her body becomes to large for her clothes, so her clothes rip off, and when she transforms back, she is still in the nude because her clothes were already ripped in the first place, so they don't come back into one piece again.
So, if Jun had her clothes back to normal, it wouldn't exactly make sense huh?! So, if you want to avoid nudity and such, then just look at the back for the rating(this is my p.o.v.):
Nudity Rating - 3+ means its basically G(eneral)
6+ means NO nudity
12+ or 13+ means maybe some nudity, but like, there are just the
figures of the body such as the butt and such...
17+ means a lot more nudity
18+ then... you are looking at a hentai
But, just to tell you, not all of them carry nudity, but is still 17+, such as Vampire Hunter D. It has lots of gore and violence. So ya.
